Overview
Second Chef – Full Time Permanent position at our Restaurant in Mortonhall Garden Centre. Our competitive rate of pay is £13.10 per hour. Hours for the role are 45 per week over 5 days. All positions include weekends working so flexibility is a must.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in the operation of all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen.
* Work as part of a small team under the guidance of the Head Chef and be responsible for the preparation of our fresh ingredients for our full menu range.
* Prepare fresh ingredients.
* Prepare hot and cold food orders to order.
* Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process.
* Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste.
* Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
* Close down kitchen each day including preparation for the following day.
Requirements/Qualifications
* Passion for good quality fresh produce and food.
* Understanding of food hygiene requirements.
* Good food presentation skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Great teamwork.
* Hardworking.
* Shift flexibility including weekends.
* The ability to work well and efficiently under pressure.
