Main duties of the job
1. Lead the recovery and sustainable improvement of the Dermatology service, ensuring Cancer, RTT, diagnostics, and surveillance targets are met.
2. Coordinate and oversee the administrative team to deliver efficient, patient-centered care in line with national standards.
3. Monitor waiting lists and patient pathways, managing risks and implementing timely interventions to prevent breaches.
4. Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to streamline processes, optimize capacity, and improve productivity.
5. Analyse complex service performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
6. Act as a key communicator, providing clear, actionable updates to staff, management, and stakeholders.
7. Support policy development, training, and service transformation to enhance patient access and outcomes.
Skills and Experience:

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
15. Communication: Effectively communicate complex service performance data and recovery plans to diverse audiences, including clinical leaders, managers, and external stakeholders. Lead staff training as a system Super-User and represent the service at key meetings. Maintain patient confidentiality and manage patient access complaints.
16. Performance and Management: Provide leadership and supervision to the Dermatology administrative team, ensuring efficient service delivery. Monitor and report on service performance, waiting lists, and patient tracking to prevent breaches. Support operational workflows and budget management in the absence of the service manager. Foster a positive, inclusive team culture through mentorship and development.
17. Service Recovery: Lead the recovery of Cancer and RTT waiting lists, improve service productivity by streamlining pathways, and collaborate with clinical teams to optimise capacity. Escalate and resolve capacity or pathway issues, contribute to strategic planning, and implement service improvement initiatives aligned with Trust objectives.
18. Policy and Service Development: Support the development and implementation of service improvement policies and operational practices. Deliver training programs, ensure compliance with national clinical standards, and develop business cases to drive service transformation.
19. Audit and Research: Participate in audits, risk assessments, and research activities to improve service quality and performance management.
20. Learning and Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development, participate in appraisal processes, and identify personal learning needs to support service excellence.
