Job Description:
This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.
The primary focus is on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. The role involves continual improvement and standardization of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, codes of practice, and industry guidelines, while promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.
This position is based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Review Health Risk Assessments with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to identify hazards and required monitoring or surveillance programs.
* Deliver occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic risks, including:
o Hazardous Substance Management and COSHH risk assessments
o Chemical workplace exposure monitoring (e.g., benzene, toluene, mercury, lead, chromium, solvents, welding fumes, toxic gases)
o Asbestos Management and surveys
o Noise and vibration management and assessments
o Radiation management and assessments
o Thermal hazard assessment
o Potable water management
o Communicable diseases, mould, animal/insect hazards, DSE, fatigue
* Recommend and design control strategies.
* Monitor and evaluate control measures, including testing and inspection of LEV/PPE/RPE.
* Deliver occupational hygiene training, e.g., asbestos awareness, dust procedures, PPE use.
* Undertake assurance activities such as inspections and audits across all operational sites, including support centers and NUIs, covering occupational health and hygiene standards and food preparation areas.
* Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.
Key Requirements Include:
* Occupational Hygienist working towards or holding BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence, via a qualifying degree or BOHS modules.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in occupational hygiene, including measurement techniques.
* Strong drive and passion to champion occupational hygiene and influence management and staff.
* Excellent communication skills for presentations and reports.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality work.
