Job Description:
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our caring team at The Square Nursery School. If you love supporting early childhood development and are committed to delivering high-quality care and inspiring learning experiences, this role is perfect for you. As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can grow, explore, and thrive.
Location:
Holland Park Avenue, W11 3QU
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM (with a 45-minute unpaid break) — 35 hours per week, term-time only (33 weeks per year)
* Pro-rata annual salary: £16,170 – £17,325, paid in 12 equal monthly instalments of £1,347.50 – £1,443.75 (gross)

Responsibilities
* Provide attentive, responsive care tailored to each child’s needs.
* Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities that support learning and development.
* Observe and assess children’s progress to ensure individual needs are met.
* Communicate openly and positively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised nursery environment following health and safety guidelines.
* Support children’s emotional and social development through positive interactions.
* Work collaboratively with the team to foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
* Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and smooth transitions between activities.
Skills & Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification required.
* Proven experience working with young children in a nursery or similar setting.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
* Leadership skills with the ability to confidently manage small groups of children.
* Creativity in engaging children through play and educational activities.
* Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices.
* A valid driving licence is a bonus for outings or transport-related needs.
* A nurturing, patient approach with the ability to inspire confidence and curiosity in children.
