Job Opportunity: Band 6 CHC Nurse Assessor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work as a CHC Nurse Assessor within the Northamptonshire area. This community-based post offers the opportunity to enhance assessment and decision-making skills in a challenging but supportive environment.
The posts are being recruited on an initial 6-12 month fixed-term contract.
Role Overview: As a Band 6 CHC Nurse Assessor, you will be responsible for determining eligibility for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding through assessments, reviews, and appeals, following the National Continuing Healthcare Framework. You will ensure patients navigate the CHC process smoothly and efficiently, enabling timely access to high-quality care. You will develop strong links with health and social care colleagues to facilitate effective multidisciplinary working and gain a comprehensive understanding of local NHS and independent sector services in individuals' homes and care facilities.
Reporting: You will report to a Band 7 CHC Clinical Nurse Specialist.

* Be highly motivated with a keen desire to learn and develop; training on the NHS CHC Framework will be provided during induction.

* Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
* Demonstrate strong people management skills, handling difficult situations and challenging individuals effectively and calmly.
* Work comfortably with a diverse range of ages and clinical conditions.
* Prescribe care based on individual health needs.
* Uphold a strong value set centered on quality and patient/care experience.
* Manage time effectively and work efficiently under pace.
* Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Office and intermediate typing skills.
* Adapt to changes at short notice.
* Be willing to travel daily across the county and occasionally nationwide.
