POSITION SUMMARY: We’re looking for a Purchasing Controller to join our Group Procurement team. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day purchasing activities, maintain accurate supplier and cost data, and resolve invoice queries to keep everything running smoothly. You’ll work closely with colleagues and suppliers, building strong relationships and ensuring our processes are efficient and effective.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Manage day-to-day purchasing activities in line with Group Procurement processes.
2. Maintain accurate system data for suppliers, pricing, lead times, MOQs, and part weights.
3. Allocate suppliers in line with Commodity Sourcing Strategies agreed with Buyers.
4. Ensure all cost data is set up correctly to enable seamless sales order entry and procurement.
5. Resolve blocked invoices relating to price discrepancies in a timely manner.
6. Provide information and support to other sites (, weights, unit costs, supplier contacts).
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
8. Identify and reduce non-value-adding activities in purchasing systems and processes.
9. Follow and role-model company values, policies, and procedures at all times.
10. Take responsibility for Environment, Health & Safety by promoting safe practices and reporting hazards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
11. You have experience in a purchasing or procurement role (though we’re open to those with transferable skills).
12. You’re highly organised, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
13. You’re a confident communicator who can build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers alike.
14. You enjoy developing positive supplier partnerships and finding solutions to challenges.
15. You’re proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
16. You thrive both as part of a team and when working independently.
17. You pay close attention to detail and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
18. You’re motivated by working in line with company values, policies and processes.
