Independent Living Coordinator

Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, the Independent Living Coordinator will be part of a team providing supportive, responsive, effective, and flexible housing management and support to customers in Independent Living. The role focuses on promoting and maximizing independence for older people within a user-led environment, aligned with the Great Places Service Commitment framework.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting customers to maintain independence and thrive in their tenancy and community, involving relevant parties as appropriate.
* Managing all aspects of tenancy, including voids, allocations, tenancy end, new tenancies, inductions, rent collection, anti-social behavior, breaches of occupancy agreements, repairs, maintenance, and adaptations.
* Overseeing general building management, health and safety, security, and compliance.
* Supporting customer welfare through welfare checks, responding to alarms and emergencies, and working with relatives and support agencies to meet housing and support needs.
* Completing Personal Safety Plans with customers, adopting a Person-Centred Approach to advise on security and safety, and managing risks.
* Maintaining accurate records in line with Data Protection regulations to support customers and ensure service safety.
* Promoting partnership working with other agencies, signposting services, and facilitating customer access to relevant services.
* Encouraging social engagement and community involvement among customers.
* Promptly addressing safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action.
* Adhering to guidelines and workflows in line with the Great Places Service Commitment framework.
Essential requirements:
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
* Experience with administration, recording procedures, and confidentiality.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
* Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
* Experience with housing processes and welfare benefits.
* Knowledge of housing and tenancy legislation and procedures.
* Ability to travel to multiple locations.
* Valid driving license and access to transport.
Skills and attributes:
* Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication and liaison skills.
* Highly organized with good planning and prioritization skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Awareness of budget management, value for money, and handling complaints.
* Willingness to attend training sessions, both face-to-face and virtual.
