Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in horticulture and landscape maintenance, with practical experience in gardening tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors, maintaining and enhancing various green spaces, ensuring they remain healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing. Duties
* Planting, watering, fertilising, and pruning a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees
* Operating hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes for garden maintenance
* Utilising power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers to manage large areas
* Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules
* Weeding flower beds and vegetable patches to promote healthy growth
* Assisting with landscape design projects and planting schemes
* Conducting routine inspections of gardens for pests or disease and taking appropriate action
* Maintaining garden equipment through cleaning and basic repairs
* Ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and safe in accordance with health and safety regulations
Skills
* Proven experience in gardening or horticulture, with a strong understanding of plant care and landscape maintenance
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
* Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance
* Growing experience with various plant species preferred
* Familiarity with gardening techniques, including pruning, fertilising, mulching, and pest control
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
* A genuine passion for gardening and landscape aesthetics
