Creative content producer (video & design)

Telscombe
The Auckland Project
Content producer
€35,000 a year

Offer description

The role purpose

We’re looking for a talented Creative Content Producer to help us bring our stories to life. Someone who can spot the moment, frame the story and turn it into dynamic digital content that makes people want to visit. This is not a passive content role.

You’ll plan, film, edit and deliver high‑quality multimedia content across our digital platforms. Short‑form social video will be a key focus, with longer‑form content produced for YouTube and website use where needed.

Alongside video, you’ll support the marketing team with light‑touch graphic design — resizing and adapting agency‑created artwork when quick updates are needed, helping us move fast without compromising quality or brand consistency. You’ll also help us build a more efficient in‑house content engine by creating reusable templates and maintaining a well‑organised asset library.

Key Responsibilities

* Film across exhibitions, events and outdoor spaces, capturing interviews, behind‑the‑scenes stories and visitor moments.
* Edit content in Adobe Premiere Pro, producing short‑form social video (Reels, Stories, TikTok, Shorts) and longer‑form edits for YouTube and website.
* Confidently conduct vox pops with visitors in a friendly, professional way.
* Clearly communicate filming intentions and request consent; follow a structured permissions approach (including appropriate consent processes for children/families where relevant).
* Add subtitles, titles and platform‑ready formatting.
* Make minor amendments to Illustrator/InDesign and Photoshop files; resize and version campaign assets for social, screens, web and email.
* Apply brand guidelines consistently across video, graphics and multi‑channel outputs.
* Create and maintain reusable templates (motion/design) to speed up production and reduce reliance on agency for day‑to‑day adaptations.
* Work to a weekly/monthly content calendar, coordinating releases around programming, campaigns and events.
* Manage files with strong discipline: naming conventions, version control, backups and an accessible shared asset library.
* Work to briefs, manage multiple deadlines, prioritise effectively and keep stakeholders updated.
* Present content ideas confidently — pitching concepts and explaining why they’ll work for our audiences.

Person Specification

Essential

* 2–4 years’ experience producing video content end‑to‑end (concept → shoot → edit → delivery).
* Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
* Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/InDesign and Photoshop (minor amends/resizes/versioning).
* Confidence filming in public environments and approaching visitors for vox pops.
* Understanding of GDPR principles and permissions/release processes for filming and image use.
* Strong organisational skills: content calendars, deadline management and multi‑project prioritisation.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, with confidence presenting creative ideas.
* High attention to detail and a commitment to brand consistency.

Desirable

* Motion graphics / After Effects.
* Photography skills.
* Experience in heritage, culture, charity or visitor attraction environments.

The Auckland Project focus

The Auckland Project works hard to create a positive change for those living, working and visiting Bishop Auckland. We have created a visitor destination in Bishop Auckland, incorporating Auckland Castle (once home to the Prince Bishops of Durham), a Spanish Art Gallery, Faith Museum, Walled Garden, Deer Park, Mining Art Gallery, Auckland Tower visitor centre and Weardale Railway.

Our visitor destination and community development programme broadly fits into three areas:

* The social environment: we help individuals and communities by creating a sense of curiosity, hope and faith in themselves and the world around them. We provide opportunities for skills development and partnerships, building a year‑round tourist market and supporting small creative industries to thrive.
* The natural environment: we protect, sustain and enhance the world around us.
* The built environment: we restore and enhance the beauty and historic significance of the buildings, structures and assets in our care.

By working with us, you are helping to ensure the town’s future is as magnificent and vibrant as its past.
