Due to increased project demand, we are recruiting Pipefitters to join our client's fit-out team within a busy shipyard environment. You will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining a variety of piping systems in support of the production plan, ensuring all work meets required timescales, quality expectations, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lay out, install, assemble, and maintain pipe systems, supports, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
Work confidently from blueprints, drawings, isometrics, sketches and verbal instructions.
Measure, mark, cut, thread and bend pipes using appropriate tools and machinery.
Select correct pipe types, materials, sizes, and fittings according to specifications.
Prepare pipe surfaces and components for cutting, welding, and brazing.
Install both metal and non-metal piping systems.
Conduct leak testing using approved equipment.
Fit clamps, brackets, hangers and associated supports.
Repair, remove and replace damaged components on ship systems.
Identify appropriate materials for system types (e.g., hydraulics) and recognise hazards.
Assess work sites to ensure safe access and structural integrity before cutting.
Comply fully with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures.
Required Skills & Knowledge

Experience Required
SVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
Previous experience within a shipyard or heavy industry environment is essential
Rates & Additional Information
Standard Rate: £17.58/h plus £2.04/h holiday pay
Overtime (after 37 hours): £26.37/h plus £3.06/h holiday pay
Standard Hours: Monday-Thursday, 06:45-16:15
Contract Length: Until December 2026
