Overview
Recruitment will be to various posts for either adult, children’s or vaccination team portfolios. Posts will be aligned either to a locality or public health depending on the portfolio recruited to.

Role and responsibilities
* Professional and clinical lead for nursing services within areas of responsibility and designated nursing profession specific lead. For example in health visiting, school nursing, district nursing, community bed bases or primary care services (i.e. advanced nurse practice, treatment rooms, and vaccination service). The post holder will be flexible in their approach to the role across the professional nursing structure.
* Expert practitioner, providing professional leadership, support and advice within the multi-disciplinary team across NHS Lanarkshire to ensure high standards of nursing care.
* Lead the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity within the context of clinical governance.
* Contribute to the development and operation of nursing/service strategy across NHS Lanarkshire: the major impact of which will be the increase in quality of patient care and service quality.
* Strengthen nursing contribution and professional decision making in the development of nursing and interagency partnerships.
* Ensure that National nursing policy and strategy is included in the planning and implementation of service redesign/modernisation including partnership agendas.
* Provide advice, support, and contribute to the education of staff, as appropriate, within a ward/service.
Will have line management responsibility when operating as senior manager on call or as part of an organisational delegated service responsibility.
What we need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
* Knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework
* Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development
* Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
* Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the healthcare agenda
* Experience of assessing training needs
* Experience of resource management (financial; human; capital)
* Experience in service planning, project management and performance monitoring/reporting
* Knowledge and experience of needs assessment and analysis/interpretation of related data
* A proven track record in sound and effective leadership. Ability to think strategically, corporately and act as a team player
* A proven track record in developing innovative solutions to meet organisational requirements and motivating staff to effect change
* A proven track record in developing teams/services and integrated solutions to complex and challenging problems
* Working knowledge of basic information technology

Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Primary Care Services within Almada Street. The working pattern for this role will be discussed at interview.
