Purpose of the role
To optimise and address Barclays' 3rd party spend requirements, including defining, developing, and implementing approaches for relevant spend categories with close collaboration with the business and execution of strategic sourcing and buying channel development/optimisation.
Accountabilities
* Profile spend in the category area and develop understanding of business strategy, requirements, cost levers, and opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop RFPs, and ensure sourcing aligns with the bank's needs and priorities.
* Plan and execute sourcing events including RFP/RFXs, negotiations to meet business requirements for value, speed, compliance, and risk.
* Monitor and guide controls and compliance requirements throughout the sourcing cycle, including regulatory engagement, controls, audits, and data quality.
* Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing activities aligned with policies, standards, and regulations.
* Identify and deliver change opportunities to improve sourcing processes, including buying channel optimisation.
* Stay updated on industry trends related to sourcing and category management through conferences, training, and market research.
* Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and collaborate with other functions.
* Lead a team performing complex tasks, setting objectives, coaching, and appraising performance.
