Job Details
* Hours: 26 hours per week over 4 days (10.00 – 17.00)
* Location: The post will be based in Hounslow, with the requirement to work from any of EACH’s locations based on service needs. Remote working may be required.
* Qualifications: Recognised counselling qualification and registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
* Contract: Subject to continuous funding and performance.
EACH provides specialist services to individuals and families affected by mental health issues, domestic violence, and substance misuse. We seek qualified, compassionate counsellors skilled in supporting clients recovering from trauma, mental health challenges, and domestic abuse. Responsibilities include providing one-to-one emotional support, structured counselling, and group work for:
* BAME women/men experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
* Asylum seekers facing mental health challenges or trauma related to migration, especially those whose first language is not English.
Key Duties
* Assess, engage, and deliver structured counselling and group work for BAME community members, including non/limited English speakers, recent arrivals (refugees and asylum seekers), and those experiencing domestic abuse or mental health issues.
* Contribute to the success of EACH’s services.
* Build strong relationships with local partnerships and promote services to professionals and communities.
* Support volunteer and trainee counsellors in collaboration with staff and projects.
* Work collaboratively within EACH and with partner organisations.
Requirements
* A recognised counselling qualification (minimum diploma level or equivalent) and registration with a professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP).
* Experience supporting BAME communities affected by mental health issues and domestic violence/abuse.
* Ability to provide support in relevant community languages (e.g., Farsi, Arabic, Tigrinya, Spanish).
* Knowledge of issues faced by BAME communities.
* Understanding of mental health and domestic abuse issues.
* Flexibility for some evening/weekend sessions via phone or digital platforms.
