Making a Difference as Residential Support Worker The main purpose of the post is to contribute to the provision of our Short Breaks Service that supports children and young people with learning disabilities and associated health needs. You'll be providing high quality individualised care in an exciting and rewarding environment. The role includes direct support of children and young people aged 7-17 years old who attend the service for a short break. The successful candidate will also Key Work a small amount of cases, building close links and therapeutic relationships with the families we support. Full training is provided for all aspects of the role. It would be preferable if applicants have some experience of working in a Health and Social Care setting and have an ability to work directly with vulnerable young people and manage challenging behaviour. The service operates a 24hr service and this role will involve shift work, including rotation on to waking nights. St Helens council will support your development as you work towards and complete your Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People s Workforce (with social care pathway) within 2 years of commencement.
