Role Purpose
The Welder / Fabricator will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and associated tasks to support the production and installation of pipework and related systems. The role involves working with mild steel, using TIG and MIG welding methods, to produce high-quality fabricated components to specification.
Key Responsibilities Welding Work
Carry out welding and fabrication tasks in mild steel.
Use TIG and MIG welding methods to produce accurate, clean welds.
Ensure all welded assemblies are produced to specification and in line with quality standards. Typical Jobs
Fabricate pipework assemblies, including sockets, to dimensions provided on listing sheets.
Weld and fabricate flanges, elbows, and tees for pumproom pipework.
Work to technical drawings, schematics, and written specifications. Additional Support Duties
Assist with pipe cutting using chop saws.
Assist with pipe threading using a Rigid Threading Machine.
Support with installing fittings on pipework as required. Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in a workshop or site environment.
Strong skills in TIG and MIG welding, specifically with mild steel.
Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and listing sheets.
Experience with pipework fabrication, including flanges, elbows, and tees.
Competent in the use of hand tools, chop saws, and pipe threading machines.
Good understanding of workshop health & safety practices. Personal Attributes
