HGV CLASS 1 SHUNTER DRIVER
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established logistics client based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire .

Shifts: • Monday to Sunday • Start times between 19:00 – 07:00

Day-to-Day Duties: • Shunting 45ft trailers safely to and from allocated bays within the yard • Operating a tug unit and Class 1 vehicles in line with company and safety standards • Carrying out daily yard checks in compliance with site rules and Health & Safety procedures • Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before movement • Covering trunking routes when required • Completing all necessary paperwork and vehicle checks accurately • Adhering to all transport regulations and traffic laws • Communicating effectively with transport, warehouse, and yard teams via radio
Essential Skills: • Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence • Minimum of 2 years' experience driving and shunting Class 1 vehicles • Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no IN, DR, DD, or CD codes) • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to operate efficiently in a busy yard and warehouse environment
Desirable Experience: • Previous experience in a logistics or distribution yard
Training Provided: • Full induction and paid driver assessment prior to starting • Ongoing training and support throughout your assignment
