VACANCY: Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Engineer.
SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7/8am – 4/5pm
PAY: Up to £50,000 depending on experience.
LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.
We are seeking a Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Engineer, working within a dedicated team of engineers on the sustainable improvement of manufacturing processes within the AMC production facility. Full cycle Improvement initiatives of the production processes to become more cost effective and efficient over the product life cycle, supporting/resolving any technical problems, and providing Lean Six Sigma technical expertise and guidance to all levels of the business, from operators to Management.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Evaluating manufacturing process controls and making recommendations for improvements.
* Analysing and reporting on production processes, methods, KPIs, downtime, cycle times and OEE.
* Utilising structured approaches and techniques to the commissioning and handover to production of new lines, processes or equipment.
* Reviewing and calculating the costs of any/ all internal processes, methods and equipment in the production areas and provide insight/ forecasts on the overheads & potentials costs of future production.
* Analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency.
* Generating process manufacturing standard work to the most effective work sequence
* Ownership, management and development of PFMEA and control plans.
* Ensuring that all personnel are provided with any necessary instructions, tools and information to best enable them to follow the proven procedures and instructions in relation to process and equipment.
* Responsibility for maintaining and improving the efficiency and quality of the production processes to produce a better product, at a lower cost and improve the profitability.
* Liaising with internal departments and customers to resolve technical queries in the shortest possible turn-around time.
* Providing technically sound engineering solutions to achieve agreed improvement goals, working across departmental functions to resolve any potential problems or issues.
* Preparing accurate timelines for all aspect of each project or improvement initiative
* Supporting/ collaborating with internal & external design teams - Design For Manufacturing (DFM)
ABOUT YOU:
* Strong drive to develop and drive project plan and goals to meet business objectives.
* Relevant Lean Six Sigma Qualification .
* Minimum 3 years' experience in high-volume manufacturing environment.
* An enthusiastic self-motivator, able to work to clear objectives/ deadlines with minimum oversight from your manager.
* Ability to work well within a team, leading when necessary, advising when required, always championing the consensus/ majority rule.
* Train, mentor & coach supervisors and operators on Lean tools and techniques, including the management of Training & Development plans.
* Comfortable facilitating or presenting to larger crowds, at all levels within the business.
* Excellent Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis skills.
* Good communicator - patient, professional & courteous.
* Solid IT skills, including AutoCAD, Purchasing Software and Microsoft Office – in particular Excel.
