The Role of this Personal Care Assistant
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client, focusing solely on supporting them. This role involves working Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour day shifts.
About The Client and Duties
Our client is a young man in his 20s with a brain injury and complex care needs. He requires structure, routine, and support with daily tasks to enable access to the community and social activities.
The ideal support worker will have a calm, patient, and kind nature. Excellent communication skills are essential as our client communicates through facial expressions, an 'Eye Gaze' communication device, and body language.
You must be a driver with a full UK driving licence and be prepared to drive an adapted vehicle to appointments and leisure activities.
Experience in complex and personal care is desirable.
Requirements
* Comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards, including full induction, safeguarding, health & safety, first aid, food hygiene, tracheostomy care, oral suction, gastrostomy, medication, moving & handling with hoist, epilepsy, learning disability, and mental health awareness.
* Training hours paid at minimum wage, to be completed before start date.
* Desirable: experience in complex care.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
* Commitment to long-term, person-centred care.
* Reliability, compassion, and respect for confidentiality.
