Are you passionate about ensuring we have enough water for people, business, and the environment? You will lead a department in Operations Catchment Services, with over 70 technical experts, delivering a national water resources service.
Responsibilities
* Providing expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources
* Managing programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction
* Drought planning and drought management
* Developing talent and skills in water planning
* National modelling for water resources and groundwater
* Shaping and scrutinising Water companies' statutory Water Resource Management Plans
* Leading the operational delivery of services to ensure resources are used effectively, priorities are met, and performance is demonstrable
Leadership and Skills
* As an inspiring leader, champion health, safety, and wellbeing; foster inclusion; and actively support the growth and development of your people
* Lead the Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team
* Excellent stakeholder management with a strong customer focus and influencing skills
* Strategic thinking with the ability to simplify complex, integrated business to deliver what is most important
* Working knowledge of water resources management and awareness of environmental, political, and economic pressures affecting the wider water environment
Experience/Qualifications
* Authentic leader with a strong team focus and a belief in leadership as fundamental to protecting people and the environment
* Demonstrated ability to develop individuals and teams, creating an open, inclusive, trusting culture
* Experience managing complex, integrated business with a focus on delivering results
* Experience or working knowledge of water resources management and related stakeholders
