The Role:
As a member of our Information Development Team, this role is an Analytics Development and Support Consultant specialising in the support and development of our Azure Analytics Platform and Power BI Capacity.
We are seeking an Azure Analytics Platform specialist, with hands-on experience of the Azure analytics environment and an in-depth knowledge of its implementation.
What you’ll do:
The role will help develop and guide the Council’s expanding analytics programme and provide detailed knowledge transfer to existing staff. Your role will be working in a 3rd level Development and Support Team covering Azure Analytics, GIS, integrations and other information development projects including implementing new technologies for Hampshire County Council.
You will focus on the management of the corporate analytics platform, taking responsibility for the day to day functions, including support of the live automated data pipelines, integration between our analytics platform and other systems, and a programme of continual improvement. This will include troubleshooting issues, trialling enhancements; as well as working closely with the various departmental data scientists and analytics teams.
The complexity, responsibility and accountability will be commensurate with the grade, with the lower grade being a focussed analytics platform lead, and the higher grade having responsibility for the wider team, managing staff and coordinating other technology platforms.
What we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will be experienced in working within a formal IT environment, which includes:
1. IT/application support experience 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level within an enterprise-scale environment
2. Effective communication skills at all levels, including oral and written
3. Self-motivated and committed to on-going personal development
4. Able to establish effective working relationships with people at all levels
5. Ability to quickly absorb information and understand new technologies/solutions
6. Experience of working as part of a project team, delivering solutions on time and within budget
7. Azure subscription administration
8. Azure development skills, including:
- Azure Data Factory
- Logic Apps
9. Fabric Capacity administration
10. Integrations
- Experience working with and configuring SOAP and OData APIs
