Job Title: Site Protection Officer (SPO) – Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres Location: M&S Sneshall East Ind West Salary: £12.71 per hour Hours: 3 days, 3 nights, 3 off rolling schedule Contract Type: Full-time Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family! We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across a Marks & Spencer Distribution Centre. As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets and ensuring a consistent, high‑quality service across all DCs. You will be required to work flexibly across days, nights, and weekends, including short‑notice cover when required. Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide professional security cover across the M&S Distribution Centre.
* Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values.
* Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
* Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
* Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
* Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
* Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
* Assist site management and permanent SPO teams to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
* Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short‑notice assignments.
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
Person Specification
• Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail. • Professional appearance and high personal standards. • Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Calm under pressure with a positive, "can‑do" attitude. • Must hold a valid front‑line SIA Licence. • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.

* Report any hazards, risks, or incidents immediately to your line manager.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and responsibly.
* Identify and report any training or equipment needs promptly.
