Temporary Management Accountant required with a fantastic public sector organisation based in Telford. The Temporary Management Accountant will provide high-quality financial management, reporting, and analysis to support effective decision-making across the organisation. The role will focus on delivering timely and accurate management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial insight while supporting budget holders and senior stakeholders during a period of transition or increased workload.
Key tasks:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain financial controls and compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets
- Produce regular forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities
- Act as a key finance contact for designated service areas or cost centres
- Provide clear financial advice to non-finance stakeholders
- Translate financial information into accessible insights to support operational decision-making
