On behalf of a well-established and highly regarded special needs primary school in Tower Hamlets, we are recruiting a dedicatedCare Assistant / Teaching Assistantto join their team. The successful candidate will support pupils aged 4–11 who have a range of complex needs, including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
This role is integral to the daily life of the school and offers a rewarding opportunity to positively impact children’s learning and well-being.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing tailored classroom support to individual pupils and small groups
* Assisting pupils with personal care requirements, including feeding, toileting and mobility support
* Contributing to the implementation of individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
* Supporting teachers and therapists to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
* Encouraging pupils’ independence, communication, and social development
Candidate Requirements
* A caring, patient and empathetic approach to working with children with special educational needs
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Reliability and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
* A valid dbs on the update service, or a willingness to do so.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
