Overview
Join the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine as a key member of the Professional Services team supporting postgraduate students across a diverse portfolio of programmes.
Responsibilities
* Support the postgraduate student journey from admission through to course completion, serving as the primary point of contact for students, supervisors and academic colleagues.
* Monitor and maintain the Department’s input to the student management system – CamSIS.
* Administer application and admissions procedures, including processing applications and organising interviews.
* Process student stipends via the University Student Payment system and set up studentships.
* Organise and provide administrative support for postgraduate events such as course recruitment activities, Postgraduate Open Days, welcome events and departmental seminars.
* Collaborate with HR, Finance and Grants, Communications and Facilities to deliver a responsive, efficient and student‑focused service.
Qualifications
* Organised, proactive administrator with strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

* Previous administrative experience, preferably in higher education or a related field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence managing competing priorities.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Professional and discreet approach when handling sensitive information.
* Interest in higher education, student support or academic administration.
Employment Details
* Part‑time (0.6 FTE – 21.9 hours per week) on a 3‑year fixed‑term contract, with flexibility around working patterns.
* Hybrid working model: minimum office presence of two days per week, with additional flexibility by arrangement.
