We are seeking a reliable and proactive Building Maintenance Associate to join our team, responsible for ensuring the safe operation and upkeep of GM Park.
As a main key holder, the appropriate candidate would be expected to open and close the main office and warehouse building on a rota basis. They will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, security, and general upkeep of both sites. This role involves performing routine maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring the premises remains safe and functional for all members and external guests.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of GM Park.
* Daily opening and closing of buildings, car parks and external gates for members/guests.
* Daily monitoring of security systems (i.e. fire panels, intruder alarms and CCTV).
* To take part in daily walk rounds of both sites to observe, report hazards, damages, security breaches and swiftly resolve any issues highlighted.
* Ensure all minor maintenance tasks are completed within the building (e.g.- fixing of door handles, shelves, painting, leaks etc).
* Upkeep of external grounds and car park (i.e. – gritting, removal of leaves and debris).
* Maintain high cleanliness standards in all areas, including offices, restrooms, communal spaces, canteens and guest areas.
* Perform regular cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and waste disposal.
* Restock hygiene supplies, including hand sanitisers, toilet paper, and soap.
* Ensure all cleaning equipment is well-maintained, regularly restocked and stored safely.
* Ensure storage areas and supply rooms are organised and stocked.
* Assist in setting up refreshments and ensuring communal areas are presentable.
* Follow the GM House cleaning guidelines and etiquette daily.
* Inspect and repair all furniture, equipment and fittings to comply with our H&S standards.
* Maintain safe conditions and safe working practices within the facilities.
* Adhere to company and statutory health and safety procedures and policies.
* To promptly deal with all members, external visitors and contractors with courtesy and respect.
* To manage waste disposal, recycling and parking on site.
* To ensuring heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems function properly and report hazards.
* To assist external contractors whilst on site (weekend).
* To assist with any additional duties requested by the Guest Relations and Facilities Manager.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or a similar role.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Physically fit to perform lifting, climbing, and other manual tasks.
* A can do, proactive, energetic attitude towards work and people.
* A good self-manager with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise.
* A strong team player.
* Be adaptable to changing work schedules and available to support the team during peak times and high-demand periods.
* A 'make it happen', positive, energetic attitude to day-to-day work.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Safety procedures
Desirable:
* Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations (training will be provided).
* First Aid certification.
