As they continue to grow, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Technical Manager to join their current team. Job Summary: As the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all technical aspects of fire protection projects, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, industry standards, and client specifications. You will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance, managing a team, and working closely with both clients and the internal team to ensure jobs are completed to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of technical engineers and technicians. Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients, project managers, and internal teams. Review project specifications, conduct technical assessments, and deliver solutions that meet the client's requirements. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety standards. Develop and implement maintenance strategies for fire protection systems. Monitor and maintain compliance with UK fire safety regulations, including BS 5839, BS 5266, and other relevant standards. Conduct risk assessments and provide solutions to mitigate fire safety risks. Liaise with external agencies, contractors, and regulatory bodies as necessary. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for clients and senior management. Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience in a technical management role within the fire protection industry or a related field. In-depth knowledge of UK fire safety regulations, including BS 5839, BS 5266, and relevant codes of practice. Strong understanding of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, detection systems, and emergency lighting. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients, stakeholders, and teams at all levels. Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., IOSH, Fire Protection Engineer, NEBOSH, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure. A proactive approach to health and safety, with a strong commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Desirable: Chartered status (e.g., CEng or IEng). Experience with fire safety software and design tools. Familiarity with emerging fire protection technologies and industry trends.
