The difference you will make as Architectural Technician
In this role you will assist the Head of Technical/ Design and Planning Manager with the appointment of and liaison with external consultants. you will produce AutoCAD house type and working drawings. Support the Design and Planning Manager with the management of the business’s standard house type portfolio. Ideally in this role you will Develop and maintain good working relationships with consultants, subcontractors and material supply chains. Ensure communication is effective and prompt where needed. Ensure accurate records are maintained and available to the Head of Commercial in the event of legal action being taken.

1. Architectural degree.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a technical role at a reputable housebuilder.
3. Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and NHBC standards.
4. Commercial awareness and analytical ability.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
6. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the North West region.

Role profile
The accurate preparation of drawn information, and collation of consultant information, suitable for obtaining all relevant permissions including planning, building control and building warranty, and for construction purposes. Ensure all designs are economical, in line with site start budget allowances, and produced in accordance with development programme timescales.
Role Responsibilities
12. Assist the Head of Technical/ Design and Planning Manager with the appointment of and liaison with external consultants.
13. Check external consultants’ drawings, documents and reports.
14. Produce AutoCAD house type and working drawings. Support the Design and Planning Manager with the management of the business’s standard house type portfolio.
15. Support the Design and Planning Manager with the development of standard Part L specification.
16. Produce AutoCAD planning layouts and all associated drawings and visualisations.
17. Preparation and collation of planning applications, including applications for discharge of details reserved by planning conditions.
18. Preparation and collation of Building Regulations and NHBC Applications.
19. Liaise with necessary council officers, statutory authorities and NHBC to obtain approvals.
20. Liaise with solicitors on the preparation of legal drawings and documents.
21. Produce tender drawing packs liaising with commercial staff on any queries.
22. Produce construction drawing packs liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal staff on any queries.
23. Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors on any technical queries during construction phase.
24. Assist in production of and checking of, sales & marketing material.
25. Manage budgets and payments.
26. Liaison and collaboration with members of all other departments within the business
27. Ensure information for management company procurement is done in line with programme and accurate.
28. Attend monthly development team meetings and contribute proactively to discussions on development performance. Ensure technical matters are discussed with cost and programme delivery being key considerations.
29. Attend site weekly and liaise with the construction and commercial staff to review and remedy technical queries.
30. Develop and maintain good working relationships with consultants, subcontractors and material supply chains. Ensure communication is effective and prompt where needed. Ensure accurate records are maintained and available to the Head of Commercial in the event of legal action being taken.
31. Undertake any other duties deemed required by the Managing Director or Head of Technical to ensure the effective operation of the business.
