Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Technician to join the team at our Marchwood site on a part-time, annualised hours basis. In return, you will receive a rate of £23,764 pro rata.
We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
Responsibilities as our Electrical Technician will include:
1. Supporting the Lecturing staff in the delivery of courses to students including advising students of techniques and demonstrating safe use of tools and equipment.
2. Preparing, setting up, clearing away and storing apparatus, building of test rigs, preparing workshops and materials for lessons, demonstrations, etc.
3. Maintain the electrical workshop areas and ensuring that they are in a safe and functional state.
4. Work collaboratively with the lecturers to complete the risk assessments for the electrical workshop
5. Issuing materials, tools, and equipment in a safe condition to students and staff
6. Assisting staff and students in the use of apparatus and equipment.
7. Occasional physical demonstration of machines to members of staff and students, where this requires the application of acquired skills.
