Role Profile
Our client is a thriving manufacturing business with a Production site in Cornwall. They are currently looking to appoint a Assistant Supply Chain Planning Manager to help oversee Material Planning, Production Planning and Inventory Control and to drive greater efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives across their fast paced multi-line production operation.

Key responsibilities will include:
1. Creating short and long term production schedules to align with business goals and meet customer deadlines
2. Continually reviewing and adjusting plans in response to changes in demand, material availability or production capacity
3. Planning material requirements based on production forecasts and customer demand
4. Working with Procurement to ensure OTIF delivery of raw materials for Production
5. Optimising inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess stock or obsolescence
6. Identifying and implementing process improvements across all Supply Chain Planning processes
7. Playing an active role in Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain optimisation initiatives onsite
8. Leading a small planning team, providing coaching and support to team members and setting priorities to ensure accurate and timely scheduling for Production
9. Deputising for the Supply Chain Planning Manager as required
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
10. At least 2 years' experience in a supply chain planning role within a fast paced Manufacturing environment
11. Good understanding of Material Planning, Production Scheduling and Inventory Management principles
12. Strong analytical and Excell skills
13. Good ERP systems knowledge, such as SAP, Oracle or MS Dynamics
14. Passion for continuous improvement and an understanding of Lean manufacturing
15. Strong leadership and team coordination skills - previous line management experience is preferred but not essential
16. High attention to detail and organisational skills
17. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and work with stakeholders at all levels.
