Role: Hygiene Operative ( Night Shift)
Pay rate: £12.21ph + Night shift allowance of £10 per working evening.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 11:00pm – 05:00am.

Job purpose: The Night Shift Hygiene Operative will be responsible for carrying out thorough cleaning and sanitation of production areas, equipment, and facilities during night-time operations. This role ensures that all cleaning activities are completed to the highest hygiene and safety standards, supporting compliance with food safety and company policies. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and teamwork to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
Job Description:
* Carry out cleaning of production areas, equipment, and floors in line with the daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
* Ensure all cleaning tasks meet required hygiene and quality standards.
* Disassemble and reassemble machinery safely for cleaning when required.
* Handle and use cleaning chemicals correctly following COSHH guidelines.
* Ensure cleaning tools and materials are maintained in good condition.
* Complete cleaning records, checklists, and sign-off sheets accurately.
* Follow all company hygiene and food safety procedures.
* Report any issues or equipment defects to the Night Shift Supervisor immediately.
* Always follow safe working practices and wear the required PPE.
* Report any hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in cleaning storage areas.
* Work closely with colleagues and the Night Shift Supervisor to complete cleaning schedules efficiently.
* Support other team members as needed to ensure all areas are completed on time.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience in an industrial cleaning or food manufacturing environment.
* Good understanding of hygiene and food safety procedures.
* Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
* Awareness of COSHH and safe chemical handling practices.
* Reliability and attention to detail.
* Willingness to work night shifts in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge of HACCP and BRCGS standards.
* Experience cleaning production machinery and food processing areas.
