Overview
Enfield Legal Services are recruiting a Senior Prosecutions Lawyer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help deliver quality legal advice, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough. Specialising in Regulatory Prosecutions and prosecutions under the Housing Act 2004 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990, we are looking for an individual who is a real team player who is self-motivated and flexible.
The post is classified as a flexible worker and requires 2 days of office attendance per week, with potential for up to 5 days during the probationary period to support learning and excellence in the role.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in the relevant area and will be accustomed to carrying a heavy caseload with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include handling regulatory prosecutions, advising on civil and criminal matters, and providing high-quality legal advice to internal clients. The role requires strong drafting and negotiating skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. Local authority experience is desirable but not essential, provided the candidate has substantial relevant experience. Litigator roles will require advocacy experience. The role may involve cross-working with other teams within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in regulatory/prosecutions law or a closely related field.
* Strong drafting, negotiating and advocacy skills as required (litigator roles may require advocacy).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
* Self-motivated, flexible, and able to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.
* Local authority experience is desirable but not essential if the candidate has relevant experience.
