Delivering relevant and useful financial information to the business in a timely manner to support the Finance Director and the board in measuring the financial performance of the business and aiding the decision making process. Key Responsibilities Day to day management of the Company’s accounting procedures, the observance of statutory laws and compliance with Patterson Group’s financial rules. Manage the Finance departments across NVSL, ensuring reporting deadlines are met. Responsibility for finance staff progress reviews and ensuring objectives, information and key outputs are cascaded throughout the departments. Responsible for the production of period-end reporting to management and to group in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget, including accurate estimates of costs, expenses, incomes etc, in line with internal and group reporting deadlines. Responsible for the preparation of quarterly forecasts in line with internal and group reporting deadlines. Responsible for the preparation and continual updating of cash projections. Management of banking and finance facility relationships. Assisting the Finance Director in producing a full set of year-end statutory accounts including all relevant audit and tax schedules, ensuring the audit is satisfactorily completed. Responsible for the financial integration of any acquired businesses into NVSL/Patterson systems and processes. Supporting the Finance Director in maintaining good relationships with the Patterson finance, tax and treasury departments, meeting reporting deadlines and keeping them fully informed. Assisting the Finance Director in providing financial planning and related ongoing advice to the Senior Management Team. Manage the preparation and submission of relevant documents to fiscal authorities in respect of PAYE/NI/VAT/INTRASTAT etc. Undertake ad-hoc tasks as and when reasonably required by the Finance Director and Senior Management Team. Promote a positive commitment to health and safety and ensure that staff are fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities. Actively promote and uphold the Company Values. Personal attributes: Qualifications, experience, skills, knowledge and competencies required to fulfil the role Experience Experience of management/financial accounting within a large customer driven environment. Experience in direct management of a finance team. Proven experience of budget preparation and monitoring and of regular financial forecasting. Proven experience in the preparation of financial and management information. Experience of liaising with auditors and business advisers. Knowledge/Qualifications Qualified accountant to at least CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA level. Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems. Excellent working knowledge of current accounting software systems. Knowledge of management systems for all accounting functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger and stock. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP rules and regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance Skills/Abilities Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to set targets and to motivate and inspire staff to achieve targets. Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure and be self-motivating.
