Your Role
and What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be joining, a highly respected leader in our Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners ranked Bristol Clinical Negligence team. Julie is Irwin Mitchell’s Regional Head for the South and Head of the Bristol Medical Negligence team. She is renowned for her deep expertise in complex and high-value clinical negligence claims, particularly those involving birth injuries, delayed diagnoses (including meningitis), fatal claims, and inquests.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll play a vital role in managing complex clinical negligence cases and supporting clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives, You’ll be involved in:
1. Leading the management of a complex and high-value caseload, including litigated matters, with a focus on securing early interim payments to facilitate rehabilitation and care needs early in the process.
2. Providing expert input and oversight on claims involving a broad spectrum of medical disciplines, including obstetrics, neurosurgery, oncology, and psychiatric care, ensuring clinical and legal precision.
3. Delivering consistently accurate and compassionate legal advice, ensuring clients feel supported and informed throughout their journey.

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with genuine empathy:
4. Experienced in Clinical Negligence, with a well-established track record in claimant work.
5. Experienced in managing complex, litigated cases independently.
6. Passionate about securing justice and improving clients’ quality of life.
7. Skilled in delivering empathetic, clear, and confident legal advice.
8. Commercially minded, with experience in business development and client relationship management.
9. Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
