Role Overview

As an Education and Community Engagement Officer, you will deliver wildlife and nature-based programmes to diverse audiences, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world and promoting the work of Essex Wildlife Trust.

Based at Fingringhoe Nature Discovery Centre, you will develop educational programmes for all ages, including KS4 and KS5, and plan engaging activities for children, families, and young people, such as Nature Tots and Babies, after-school clubs, birthday parties, and holiday events.


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have strong organizational and relational skills, experience in leading educational activities, and a passion for widening access to nature. Experience in wildlife conservation, environmental science, or horticulture, along with formal or informal education delivery, is desirable. A Level 3 Forest School qualification is preferred.


Additional Details

This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week over five days, primarily based at Fingringhoe but with activities across North Essex. Salary: £27,173 per annum.
