We have an exciting opportunity to join Sheffield Health and Social Care in the stroke psychology services based in Rotherham. This is an AfC 8a role for 0.4wte (15 hours per week), with potential for temporary additional hours for interested candidates.
You will be joining well-established, valued services, working with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to stroke survivors across the pathway. This varied and dynamic role supports the development of clinical psychologist skills, as well as specialist stroke skills and knowledge. The post covers Rotherham services as part of a stroke psychology team.
This position offers excellent opportunities for collaboration with other professionals within Rotherham and the wider region, including input into national and regional working groups. As part of the Clinical Health Psychology team, you will have access to strong psychology support and leadership both locally and regionally.
Working alongside other stroke psychologists provides opportunities for support, supervision, and leadership. We support training and development, with potential opportunities in postgraduate clinical neuropsychology training or other relevant areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical psychology services to stroke survivors and their families in various settings (inpatient, community inpatient rehabilitation units, homes, or other community settings), which may require travel.
2. Collaborate with the stroke MDT to deliver a stepped model of care for cognitive and emotional difficulties post-stroke, involving consultation, advice, training, and supervision.
3. Offer supervision to other roles, including Trainee Psychologists, appropriate to banding.
4. Lead on service development projects, including work related to the new National Stroke Service model.
