Join to apply for the Finance Manager - Management Reporting role at Howden.
This is a broad and evolving role within the Group Finance Management Reporting team, created to support the development of our reporting capabilities as the business continues to grow. The position will play a key part in our finance transformation journey, combining BAU management reporting responsibilities with project-focused work, particularly around the rebuild and testing of our group consolidation system (OneStream) and the onboarding of new acquisitions.
This role is well suited to someone with strong management reporting and programme management skills, rather than deep systems implementation experience. We're looking for someone who can wear multiple hats - supporting BAU delivery, engaging in finance change, and helping standardise acquisition onboarding across the Group. There is potential for the role to evolve, so we are mindful to recruit someone who is comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and capable of shaping their own remit.
Please note that this is a full-time, permanent role based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, you are expected to be onsite 3 days per week on average.
What will you be doing?
BAU Reporting and Technical Accounting
* Produce and support key elements of monthly, quarterly, and annual Group management reporting.
* Contribute to the production of Alternative Performance Measures and respond to audit queries.
* Assist with complex reporting deliverables under various accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP).
* Support quarterly reporting requirements in line with the Group's credit agreement.
Acquisition Onboarding
* Standardise and lead the onboarding process of new acquisitions into the Group's reporting and consolidation processes.
* Liaise independently with divisional finance teams to gather and align data and processes.
* Work closely with the Finance Systems, Group Accounting, and External Reporting teams to ensure seamless integration of newly acquired businesses.
* Develop and maintain onboarding tools, guidance, and templates to drive consistency.
Finance Change and System Transformation
* Support the OneStream implementation by coordinating testing activity across Group Finance.
* Backfill key activities within the management reporting team to free up capacity for transformation work.
* Engage with initiatives to reduce the Group's Working Day Timetable and improve the quality and speed of reporting.
* Support the ongoing development of first-line internal controls over management reporting and participate in wider control improvements and remediation programmes.
What are we looking for?
* 4-6 years PQE (ideally ACA or equivalent), with experience in group reporting, audit, or financial control within a similarly large and fast-growing organisation.
* Strong foundation in IFRS and group consolidations; exposure to financial reporting controls or SOX is beneficial.
* Programme or project management capability, particularly in coordinating finance change initiatives.
* Confident communicator able to build relationships and collaborate across multiple finance functions.
* Advanced Excel skills and strong data handling capabilities; experience with OneStream or HFM is a plus.
