At NEMS we have an exciting opportunity for Urgent Care Telephone Triage Clinicians to join our team!
The successful candidates will take part in our 6 month bespoke training programme, which aims to build your clinical knowledge and confidence.
Main duties of the job
The role involves carrying out clinical telephone consultations, providing advice and information in line with policies, procedures, and guidelines, whilst utilising professional judgement and referring to other agencies where appropriate.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Some aspects of the role include:
12. Undertake telephone clinical assessmentsof patients healthcare needs and provide clinical advice in accordance withrelevant policies and guidance, and facilitate onward referral to otherprofessionals if required.
13. Encourage patients to carry outself-care where appropriate, supported by direction to other sources of healthand social care information.
14. Advise callers on the correct use ofprimary, secondary and emergency healthcare services, and assess and prioritisepatients clinical needs in accordance with NEMS policies and guidelines.
15. Liaise and communicate clinicalinformation verbally and via technical links with NEMS and health and socialcare partners to ensure continuity of care for the caller.
16. Administer medicines under PatientGroup Directions as appropriate.
17. Dispense medicines prescribed byPrimary Care Practitioners and doctors in accordance with NEMS policies.
18. Liaise directly with NEMS GPs andSenior Primary Care Practitioners regarding medicines outside of theindividuals normal sphere of competence and medicine-related uncertainties.
19. Liaise with other professionals tofacilitate direct referrals to other health care providers within the policiesof the organisation and 111 FIRST.
20. Participate in the mentorship ofvisiting health professionals and students on recognised training programmes.
21. Recognise and act upon opportunitiesthrough consultation to promote public health.
