Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Kingston, KT1 2AH
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, shifts across Monday to Sunday
Shift: 4 days on 4 days off, 07:00-19:00
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all electrical systems across the client site. Based at a brand‑new flagship facility for a global FMCG company, the role supports the delivery of statutory, legislative, and mandatory maintenance activities, helping to ensure the site remains fully functional and meets all regulatory requirements. This includes completing planned preventative maintenance, responding to reactive electrical issues, delivering minor new works, and providing technical support to maintain high service standards. The engineer plays a vital role in maintaining operational continuity, supporting the wider engineering team, and upholding a safe working environment for all building users.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults and carry out routine maintenance to industry standards.
* Complete planned maintenance, reactive tasks, minor new works, and like‑for‑like replacements.
* Conduct electrical testing and verification of minor works.
* Perform risk assessments and work safely at all times.
* Respond to emergency call‑outs, including out‑of‑hours support.
* Supervise specialist subcontractors and support apprentices.
* Maintain accurate records of work, time, and materials.
* Build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and statutory requirements.
* Participate in shift and call‑out patterns once the site is live.
Key Accountabilities
* Safe, compliant delivery of electrical maintenance.
* Efficient completion of tasks within service‑level requirements.
* Accurate documentation and reporting to the supervisor.
* Proper care and use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
* Ongoing completion of training and competency assessments.
Person Specification
* 2 years’ experience in technical maintenance.
* Strong practical electrical engineering skills and systematic problem‑solving.
* Experience working within H&S procedures and safe systems of work.
* IT literate (Microsoft Office & CMMS).
* Ability to self‑manage workload and communicate effectively.
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical (or equivalent).
* City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection & Testing.
