Graduate Engineer
Due to continued expansion, an abundant pipeline of works, and the recent award of a number of long-term major contracts, our client is now looking to appoint a Graduate Engineer who will provide support and assistance to other members of the estimating, design, quantity surveying and construction teams. Full training, mentoring, leadership and guidance will be provided as your career is progressed through the business.
Candidates must be willing to travel to site and possess a full UK driving licence and must be able to live and work in the UK without sponsorship or visa requirements. The suitable candidate for this Graduate Engineer position will have a degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering or earth sciences such as geology will also be considered.
The Role
Design and estimation of various specialist projects, using a blend of civil, structural and geotechnical knowledge. Meeting with clients and understanding their project requirements, then developing and proposing the most appropriate, effective, efficient and suitable solutions, including the preparation of offers and negotiation and discussion of terms, all to help secure a profitable pipeline of contract workload. Support the management of contracts efficiently, profitably and safely for various schemes, from receipt of order through to project completion, including the preparation of RAMS. You will also conduct site visits and surveys to specify and procure materials, and schedule any required testing etc
The Person
* Good communication, organisation and multi-tasking skills
* Full UK driving license for site visits
* Possess an HNC, HND, BSc or BEng in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
* Proficiency in IT and MS Office etc
* The ability to build effective relationships at all levels both internally and externally
* Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
* Enthusiasm and results focussed, with an ability to perform under pressure and to challenging or stringent deadlines
* Effective negotiation skills with both internal and external clients and teams
