Teach Now is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive primary school in Rainham, Havering. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils within an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) that specialises in helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other communication and sensory needs.
You’ll be part of a nurturing and experienced team that values every child’s unique strengths, working collaboratively to create a calm, structured, and inspiring environment where pupils can thrive at their own pace.
The Role
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and communication needs
• Assist with social interaction, emotional regulation, and sensory activities
• Help children access learning through tailored interventions and visual supports
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt lessons and promote engagement
• Foster independence, confidence, and inclusion across all aspects of school life
About You
• Experience working with children with ASD, speech and language, or sensory needs (school or nursery experience ideal)
• Calm, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Collaborative and proactive, able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ideally holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent SEN training
