Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a temporary Technical Support Officer for Development Management for an initial 3-month temporary contract.
Please note that this role requires onsite presence for 1-2 days a week at the Council Offices.

The Opportunity:
To assist in providing an efficient and effective service delivery to users of the Development Management service and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
Application and data management: Receive, process, and input data from planning applications and appeal cases into relevant systems. Maintain and update databases to ensure information is accurate and current.
Communication and liaison: Serve as a point of contact for the public, agents, and internal departments, responding to queries via phone and email.
Document and file management: Create and maintain digital filing systems. Send templated letters, reports, and other documents.
The Experience you will bring:
Previous experience of working in a support role in Development Management and/or Building Control
Knowledge and experience with Idox and Civica systems
ICT skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, word & Excel and Adobe
Good verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Able to prioritise and mange time
Self-motivated and able to work in a team in a hybrid environment
Desirable Requirements
Previously worked in other departments (other than DM/BC) in a local authority
