Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Aseptic Services

We are looking for a reliable, conscientious and practical pharmacy assistant, who demonstrates enthusiasm for learning and development and has a genuine interest in pursuing a career in pharmacy aseptic production. The role requires a team‑player attitude, a commitment to high quality and a willingness to embrace new ways of working.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will manufacture a range of sterile products, including TPN (Nutrition feeding bags) and chemotherapy, and undertake other duties to support staff within the Pharmacy Production Unit, contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients.
The department supports flexible working arrangements. All staff participate in evening, weekend and bank holiday working to meet the changing needs of the service. The duties and working times attached to this post may be reasonably altered in the future.
Positions are open to candidates with an NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services or those with a minimum of three GCSEs grade C (or equivalent) in English, maths and science. Candidates will receive training and support to gain the qualification. Staff who already hold Level 2 will be appointed at Band 3.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (must be completed before progressing to Band 3)
* Will undertake additional training as required for the post
* Four GCSEs including Maths, English and a Science subject at grade C or above; IT proficient
Experience
* Able to work without direct supervision
* Previous experience in a pharmacy environment
* Ability to undertake manual lifting including delivery services
* Current driving licence and willingness to undertake trust driving assessment for delivery service
* Previous experience in an aseptic manufacturing unit
Skills and Knowledge
* Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions
* Ability to work under pressure
* Methodical, attention to detail, good organisational skills
* Ability to work in an aseptic environment
* Willingness to undertake further training
