Inventory Assistant
Warehouse Environment – Despatch Operations
Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-focused Inventory Assistant to support the accurate management of stock within a busy warehouse environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring all stock movements are correctly recorded within the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The role is focused on accuracy, investigation of discrepancies, and supporting a “right first time” approach across all inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily inventory control activities including cycle counts and stock checks
* Monitor and accurately record all incoming and outgoing stock movements in the WMS
* Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where required
* Carry out regular audits of staging and storage locations
* Work closely with Warehouse, Logistics, and Quality teams to support smooth operations
* Generate inventory reports and support analysis of stock movement trends
* Assist with KPI tracking and performance reporting
* Monitor finished goods stock levels and highlight issues or risks
* Identify and report aged, obsolete, or damaged stock
* Support Goods In operations when required
* Manage inter-site stock transfers (UK and international)
* Contribute to period-end reporting for senior management
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and warehouse organisation
* Follow all health & safety procedures at all times
* Carry out additional duties as required by management
About You
* Strong understanding of stock control and inventory processes
* Experience working within a warehouse or logistics environment
* Confident using warehouse systems (WMS experience essential)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Good communication skills and able to work with multiple teams
* Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
Requirements
* Valid FLT licences (VNA, V10, Counterbalance) preferred
* Experience in inventory, stock control, or warehouse operations essential
