Job Summary
Responsible for delivering accurate, timely management accounts and statutory reporting, while leading the finance team and supporting senior stakeholders with robust financial insight and compliance. Acts as Project Finance Analyst, monitoring project performance, forecasting, and profitability, and developing US GAAP capability to support international reporting needs.
Responsibilities
Management Accounts
* Provide timely, accurate financial information while supporting the Finance Business Partner, Senior Leadership, and departmental Managers.
* Prepare the monthly management accounts within a strict 3 day deadline, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with UK GAAP.
* Lead, mentor, and support the Finance team, promoting strong performance and continuous improvement.
* Manage statutory reporting obligations, including PAYE/NI, Intrastat, EC Sales, VAT returns, and submissions to the Office for National Statistics. To support the Finance Business Partner in the Year End Audit process.
* Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashbooks, ensuring accuracy and effective debt management.
* Maintain a fully reconciled and up to date fixed asset register.
* Manage stock control processes, review and address obsolete inventory, and work closely with the Purchasing Manager to deliver an accurate and efficient year end physical stocktake.
Project Analyst
* Track projects spend against budget, identify variances, and provide clear commentary.
* Prepare monthly project financial reports.
* Track Labour and Material Procurement to maintain accurate financial data for WIP, revenue recognition, and accruals.
* Produce forward looking forecasts to inform strategic decision making.
* Work closely with project managers, operations, and commercial teams.
Other
* Progress towards becoming fully proficient in US GAAP to meet expanding international reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications
* Good level of numeracy and attention to detail
* AAT Qualified and/or CIMA Part Qualified or QBE
* Strong MS Excel
* 3+ years working in an Engineering Environment with experience of Long-Term contracts and revenue recognition.
* ETO Project Experience.
* Exposure to International reporting / US GAAP desirable.
* Experience of Sage 200 Accounting and SICON Job Costing and SAP (both desirable, not essential)
