We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Cadbury College for a fixed term role providing maternity cover from June 2026 to June 2027. This is a vital role within the College, supporting the safety, wellbeing, and protection of our students.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures across the College
* Respond to safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals to internal and external agencies
* Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records
* Work closely with staff to provide advice and guidance on safeguarding matters
* Support students at risk, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place
* Contribute to safeguarding training and awareness across the College
* Liaise with external agencies such as social services and support organisations
* Promote a culture of safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* Experience working in a safeguarding, welfare, or support role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex situations
* Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
Desirable
* Relevant safeguarding or child protection qualification/training
* Experience working in an educational setting
* Knowledge of multi‑agency working practices
