Quality Engineer required for a rapidly expanding manufacturing company, targeting a turnover of around £60M this year. Committed to exceeding customer expectations and delivering high-quality bespoke products, they are strengthening their Product Excellence, Quality, and Compliance team. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join Product Excellence and Quality Department. This is a brand-new role and will act as a key quality contact between customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for resolving quality issues, implementing preventative measures, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role and a proven track record in resolving quality problems, deploying quality tools, and preventing recurrence. Key Responsibilities Customer & Supplier Liaison Act as the primary contact for customers and suppliers on quality-related matters. Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, perform robust root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Process Risk Assessments Lead the creation, implementation, and review of process risk assessments, targeting and mitigating risks within operations. Continuous Improvement Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN, Six Sigma, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and methodologies. Quality Performance Monitoring Track, analyse, and report on key quality metrics and KPIs, providing recommendations for improvement. New Product Introduction (NPI) Contribute to NPI processes, influencing process design and defining quality standards. Yield & Defect Analysis Conduct systematic analysis of yields and defects, coordinating improvement actions. Training & Development Deliver training on quality standards, risk assessment, and CI methodologies. Visual Management Apply evidence-based systems and visual controls to communicate expectations and assess competency. Error-Proofing Identify opportunities for process and product poka-yoke to prevent future issues.
