Customer Accountant

We are currently partnering with a growing and well-established business in Edinburgh that's looking to appoint a Customer Accountant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in accounting or bookkeeping who enjoys working closely with people and is looking to step into a more client-facing, varied role.
The Role
You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team, using your finance knowledge to deliver a high level of service to customers while helping them navigate accounting processes and systems.
This role offers a strong mix of finance, problem-solving and customer interaction, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working beyond purely transactional tasks.
Key responsibilities:
1. Acting as the first point of contact for customer queries via phone, email and live chat
2. Supporting users with queries relating to accounting processes, transactions and system usage
3. Delivering training and guidance to both new and existing customers
4. Proactively reaching out to customers to provide support and improve overall experience
5. Troubleshooting issues and providing clear, practical solutions
6. Assisting internal teams with testing new features and system updates
7. Building strong relationships with customers and acting as a trusted point of contact
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be someone who combines strong finance knowledge with excellent communication skills.
Key requirements:
8. 2-3+ years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or transactional finance role
9. Exposure to areas such as VAT, payroll processes and general ledger activity
10. A solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes
11. Strong IT skills, with experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero or similar)
12. Confident communicator, able to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance individuals
13. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
