We have two 35 hour posts based at the Peterlee Hub over 5 days. Please note that staff will be required to cover at other Hubs from time to time (Stanley, Spennymoor and Durham).

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
Pathways Hubs are vibrant, inclusive spaces designed to uplift and empower. They offer a rich array of tailored resources that support health, wellbeing, and a sense of fulfilment in a truly person-centred way—for individuals with a learning disability, those on the Autistic Spectrum or individuals with complex needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering exceptional care and support to service users, and making a real difference to a persons quality of life.
The role involves providing support to young people and adults with complex learning disabilities ranging from mild to profound, and may involve behaviours that challenge, in a day service environment which is open Monday - Friday currently between the hours of 8.30am-4.30pm.
As a valued member of the Pathways team, you will collaborate with a committed and compassionate group of professionals to deliver high-quality care and support across a variety of areas. This includes administering medication, undertaking specialist tasks such as PEG feeding, suction support and stoma care, and providing personal care and support with eating and drinking.
We pride ourselves on strong working relationships with a wide network of healthcare professionals, enabling us to deliver a range of physical and sensory therapies. These are often guided by recommendations from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language specialists. Therapies may include hydrotherapy, postural care using specialist equipment, sensory therapy, rebound therapy, and cycling.
Successful candidates will also take an active role in supporting service users in meaningful, enriching activities such as arts and crafts, cookery, storytelling, music, and more, helping to enhance each individuals quality of life.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will have proven care or support experience either in a professional or personal capacity, and have the key attributes required such as being naturally caring, patient and understanding, experience in supporting people with complex needs would be advantageous but not essential.
Required Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 in Care or a willingness to achieve the qualification within a set timescale
