Job summary
A psychologist post has been created within South Cumbria Home Based Treatment Teams. There are two teams based in both Barrow-in-Furness and South Cumbria, which already work closely together. This role will help further consolidate those strong relationships.
The Home-Based Treatment Teams provide care for people experiencing acute episodes of mental illness or emotional distress. The service offers intensive support to service users and their families in the community. It works closely with other agencies and mental health services, including inpatient wards. An interest in working with individuals with complex presentations is essential, along with skills in taking an active role within a multidisciplinary framework.
Main duties of the job
The post focuses on providing a balance of direct and indirect work, including individual assessment, formulation, and short-term intervention for service users. It also involves service development, staff support, training, and consultation with other professionals.
The post will be part of a team of psychologists within The Bay Network. The successful applicant will be welcomed into a service that encourages the development of specific interests. It is hoped that the applicant will be keen to pursue further clinical training to broaden their therapeutic portfolio, aligned with their preferred models.
