About Us
We're a family-run Welsh specialised protective coatings company, proudly operating since 1969. As the last independent galvanizers in Wales, we've built our reputation on quality, reliability, and looking after our people. Our services include galvanizing, powder coating, wet painting and shot blasting.
We're not a big multinational - we're a close-knit team of around 100 employees where everyone knows each other by name. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and as long as you get the job done safely and properly, no one's standing over your shoulder.
If you're looking for secure, long-term work with a company that values practical skill and loyalty, you'll feel right at home here.
About the Role
We're looking for hands-on Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team in Cardiff.
Our site includes galvanizing baths, cranes, ovens, and powder coating lines, so the work is varied, practical, and essential to keeping production running safely and smoothly.
You'll be working on motors, drives, control panels, and cranes, fault-finding on 3-phase systems, and supporting breakdowns and planned maintenance.
You'll also cover standby one week in three with paid call-out and overtime.
* Standby: £150 per week
* Call-outs: £100 per call-out (up to 3 hrs), double time beyond 3 hrs
The Role
You'll carry out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs across our busy site. The work is varied - one day you might be diagnosing a fault on a crane or inverter, the next replacing a motor on a pump or working on our galvanizing control systems.
You'll:
* Maintain and repair cranes, hoists, motors, and control panels
* Diagnose and fix faults on 3-phase systems and drives
* Support our gas-fired heating and control systems (no gas qualification needed)
* Assist with planned maintenance, installations, and project work
* Take part in the standby/call-out rota (1 week in 3)
It's hands-on, problem-solving role that keeps the plant moving and production on track.
What We're Looking For
You don't need galvanizing electrical experience — we'll train you on that. We're looking for someone who's:
* Qualified (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with 18th Edition
* Confident working on industrial machinery (motors, drives, panels, 3-phase)
* Comfortable with crane maintenance (hoists, limit switches, pendants)
* Able to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults under pressure
* Familiar with control systems and sensors (basic PLC understanding helpful)
* A team player who takes pride in working safely and getting the job done
Experience in steelworks, manufacturing, heavy engineering, or production maintenance would be ideal.
Why Join Us
* Steady, full-time work in a long-established Welsh company
* Overtime and call-out pay to boost earnings
* Supportive maintenance team with experienced colleagues
* All PPE provided, plus training on our plant and processes
Who This Suits
This role suits a practical, down-to-earth electrician — someone who enjoys solving problems, working on real machinery, and keeping production moving.
If you've worked on cranes, motors, or industrial kit, or you're looking for a stable long-term role where you can use your skills and learn new ones, we'd like to hear from you.
